This beautiful pendant is handmade from sterling silver and set with a beautiful natural blue Obsidian gemstone, a similar colour to aquamarine. Blue Obsidian is a natural glass created by the heat of volcanic magma melting silica and other minerals with an intense heat and then cooling slowly. The blue Obsidian has been cut with a large table and surrounding facets to the front and has decorative facets on the back which give an interesting pattern when viewed from the front. Each gemstone is cut slightly differently allowing for uniqueness to the Obsidian.

The blue Obsidian averages 32mm x 22mm in size and has a very minimal hand made rub over setting surrounding the Obsidian so you do really only see the gemstone. A large decorative saddle loop is fitted to the top of the setting giving a total drop length of 46mm. The pendant is made of sterling silver and carries a 925 stamp on the inside of the saddle loop.

The culet (back) of the Obsidian does sit proud of the setting so that it is touching the skin as blue Obsidian is sought after for its healing properties which include mental clarity in illness such as Alzheimer's among others.
